Kickstarter Update #2 – $2,000 Raised (50%)
I’m having a bit of a Rocky moment as I sit in my hotel tonight. Thanks to the support of friends, family, complete strangers, tweeps, and others, I’m more than halfway to my goal. I’ve also received some very nice comments
from others interested in this model of publishing. Evidently, I’m serving as a bit of inspiration to some who’d like to write their own books–or at least a curiosity. While I have a healthy sense of self, my often feeble attempts at golf keep me pretty humble. It’s hard to be arrogant when you consider yourself reasonably athletic but sometimes need eight shots to put a little ball in a hole.
Eye of the Tiger
I’m actually starting to think that I can cover all of my costs. To clarify, I threw out $4,000 because it seemed reasonable at the time. In point of fact, my costs will be closer to double that. Of course, Kickstarter doesn’t give you partial credit. If you set out to raise $4,000 and hit 99 percent of your goal, your project isn’t funded. In choosing $4,000, I remembered that setting the bar relatively low has served me well in other aspects of life. Maybe next time I’ll aim a little higher. Until then, thanks all for the support and for spreading the word. Back to writing the book.
